What are we to do with global conflict?

War, terror, and rampant genocide are sadly not all that rare. If you were to ask our dull and unimaginative diplomats at the United Nations, they would tell you that three confirmed genocides are occurring in the world. This, of course, is terribly unsettling; not only is that too many, but there should be no tolerated genocide in existence. However, for some reason, if you were to peruse the "news" and indulge yourself in 30-second internet content, you would simply find that the most pressing issues for our human race are hardly an issue at all. It is routinely something of a cluttered and nauseating controversy instead, one perpetuated by small minds who can't bring themselves to think of anything remarkable. Celebrities, musicians, and elementary gossip comprise our news, and they are often discussed with such fervor that you would surely think it is a matter of great urgency. But it is not, and it does not take much of an intellectual inkling to fathom such a thing. When was the last time you heard mention or heated argument of genocide in Darfur? I assume not in recent memory or in collective memory for that matter. And that is obviously troubling.
